This wonderful and not very well known process blurs the boundaries still further between printing and painting. For the printmaker, watercolour unlike the oil based monoprinting inks, has a natural transparency which allows you to create a multilayered print. For the watercolourist, painting on a plate allows the image to be constantly developed, being pushed and pulled and used reductively creates a freedom to work fast and intuitively.
Over the evening you will be introduced to, priming the plates, the application of watercolour, the technique of layering the watercolour and the printing process.
At The Islington Art Room we try to make our classes as affordable as possible, so we offer a number of concessionary places. These are reserved for those who are unemployed, claim Job seekers, have a low income or are students. If you are unsure if any of the concessions apply to you, or wish to be considered for our limited number of £5 concessionary places please email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
