The beauty of a monotype is that unlike other printing processes the image can only be made once. Monoprinting works by moving, taking away and adding printing ink to the surface of a metal plate, this process creates a fluidity in the marks which give the mono print its other name - the painted print.
Looking at artists who have used monoprinting as part of their practice, you will be introduced to the processes and techniques in monoprinting and will create your own series of prints.
